Marcus Takizawa

Marcus Takizawa is a highly talented and versatile musician based in Montreal. With a Master of Music Performance from Julliard and a D.E.S.S in Film Music from l'UQÀM, he has become an expert in the field. In addition to his performance skills on the viola and violin, Marcus is proficient in various other instruments and uses Ableton, Reaper, and Finale for his compositions, arrangements, and copyist projects.

As a performer, Marcus is a member of Kid Koala's globally touring production of "The Storyville Mosquito," where he showcases his skills on both the violin and viola. He has a rich background in classical music, having previously served as the Assistant Principal Viola with the Vancouver Opera Orchestra, been a core member of the Turning Point Ensemble, and a member of the Onyx Trio.

In his role as a teacher, Marcus specializes in providing violin and viola lessons to adults and advanced students, using a professional and patient approach to help students grow and develop their skills. He is also a sought-after adjudicator for regional music festivals and competitions, using his expertise to inspire and evaluate the next generation of musicians
